Makenzi : Carver High School Class of 2016

You may have noticed there’s one thing that is for certain about me: I love taking pictures! Better yet, I LOVE taking portraits! Landscapes are cool {my favorite are taken out west} BUT there is something about engaging with real life humans that takes my job to the next level of fun. Waking up every morning knowing that I have the pleasure to meet and work with a variety of individuals, families, and businesses is why I’m a photographer…I never know who or what I will capture next.

It’s a little cliché of me to say but another thing I’m certain about is my Passion For Fashion…every chance I get I try to incorporate little snippets into my work. Incorporating this passion is truly important to me which is why I specialize in editorial-style portrait sessions…perfect for HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS! I love working with seniors because they all have such varied individual styles and tastes…and I’m totally addicted to the challenge of capturing their personality in a portrait session that we custom design for just them. Standard to the GFS Experience, I work with a trained hair and make-up specialist, one of the best in the industry, who brings out my clients best features through a variety of looks during their portrait sessions.

I’m lucky that all my high-school seniors are so friendly, kind, easy to talk to, and who are, in general, just really great people. And this young lady is no different! Meet the gorgeous Miss Makenzi from Carver High, Class of 2016. This fun and outgoing beauty is an all-star soccer player and will continue her athleticism right into college level ball!

Prior to all my sessions, I always make time to have an in-person consultation to talk about your portrait experience. During Makenzi’s consultation we talked shop about what she should wear, what to expect during the shoot, how we’d get the most out of our shoot together, and most importantly how she’d like to be portrayed in her high school senior portraits! Since Makenzi is always sporting her hair pulled back and braided, she really wanted to wow her friends with a more moody, feminine, and fun look. And we did just that! Leading up to her session, with the help of her mother, she gathered inspiration pictures from Pinterest of clothing styles, hair, and make-up…I then put them together with all the details we chatted about prior to bring her photoshoot to life!

Once again, because I STRONGLY believe having hair and makeup professionally applied can make a HUGE difference in the outcome of your portraits {and who doesn’t love to be pampered!?}, professional on-set stylist Dominique Mitchell provides a variety of looks through-out the entire session. For Mackenzie’s portraits, Dominique brought out her natural beauty and best features with soft curls and natural flawless makeup.

No matter what type of photography session, my goal is always to help you fondly remember it as an incredible experience!
